How do I create my profile?

Ready to get started with Day One? Follow these steps to show off your potential and stand out as a top candidate.

This guide will help you set up your profile so you can use the Day One platform to get matched to jobs!

Step 1: Sign Up

  • Visit the Dayonework.com website and click on the "sign up" button.
  • Select "emerging talent" - this let's us know you are looking for a job, not looking to hire.
  • Enter your email address and set up a secure password.
  • Confirm your email address by clicking on the link that has been sent to your email inbox.
  • Verify your account and begin filling out your profile.

Step 2: Create Your Profile 

We have 4 sections for you to complete:

Background

  1. Start the process by filling out your personal information, such as your full name and current location
    (Don’t worry though- they won’t be given to Talent Seekers without your permission)
  2. Tell us how you found us! If you came to our site via one of our Talent Partners, please let us know.
  3. Now, tell us about your skills, experience and education. But remember there is nothing you’re 'supposed' to be saying - so be yourself. Your experience can come from anything, so just make sure to highlight your individual skills. The more information you can provide about what makes you you, the better a match we can provide, so don’t hold back!

    Values

    1. Fill in your workplace priorities
      Ask yourself - what is important to me when it comes to my future employer? Then, let us know if it’s the people, the environment, the benefits, or something else.
    2. Read the Day One Company Charter. Whilst it might seem like a boring document, we can promise it isn’t - it will tell you what we expect from our Talent Seekers, holding them accountable to their promises and ensuring that you have the best Day One experience.
    3. Then, read our Day One Talent Pledge. In this, you can see what we expect from you, and your promises to us are just as important as the promises from our Talent Seekers.

    Aspirations

    1. Tell us exactly what your expectations for your future opportunities are.
      Is it the location that will be the selling point for you, or is it the industry? - Whatever you want for your future, have your say in this section!
    2. Please remember if you aren’t sure what you want, that’s completely ok. You can always come back later and change your answers to any of these questions.

    Essence

    1. Take this opportunity to show our Talent Seekers exactly who are. Select your best qualities, and don’t worry- it’s not bragging, it’s confidence. Remember, Talent Seekers want to know the real you, so make sure you are staying true to yourself when answering these questions about your essence!
    2. Last step - write your personal statement. This is a chance to stand out from the others, so show your future employers how amazing you are!
    3. Then click ‘finish’. If you are unhappy with any of your answers in any of the sections, you can always go back and change them at any time in your Day One journey.
    Step 3: Taking Assessments
    • We have added 3 Onboarding activities for you to complete - these have been designed to verify your skills and show our Talent Seekers that you have the skills needed to be ready for your first day.
    • If desired (when available), you may choose to take 'specialist assessments' to showcase your expertise in particular fields.
    Step 4: Matching with Opportunities 
    • Browse through opportunities that are tailored to your skills on your dashboard.
    • Refine opportunities based on roles, locations, salary, or company preferences.
    • Review job descriptions, requirements, and company culture.
    • Select opportunities that catch your eye by clicking on the "Star" button.
    Step 5: Connecting with Companies 
    • Employers will reach out to you if they find your profile intriguing.
    • Accept their invitation and an email will appear with their contact details for further communication.
    • Follow the instructions provided for the next steps in the hiring process.
    • Any additional communications will be managed externally.
    Step 6: Staying in Touch 
    • Stay vigilant for notifications from Talent Seekers.
    • Day One is here to support and motivate you, utilizing communications to guide you along your journey.
    • Continue to enhance your skills and monitor your progress on your dashboard.
